Results of the English civil war
Rump Parliament charged Charles I with treason and making war on his own country. He was put on trial. If he was found guilty he would be executed. He was indeed found guilty and was executed on January 1649. After his execution England became a republic, a country without a king. If anyone disagreed the support of the republic, the Roundheads threatened them to agree with them.
