Grand Remonstrance
The Grand Remonstrance was created to keep the change the role of the king. When Charles I found out that commons was divided and that the radical members wanted King Charles to be dethroned. He thought that if he could arrest the members he could regain power and control of parliament. So he lead 500 soldiers into the House of Commons attempting to arrest them for treason. But the radicals escaped starting the English Civil War.
