the trial and execution of king Charles the first
King Charles I was charged for treason and making war on the people of England. The charge of treason was controversial because the definition of treason is the act of trying to overthrow the king, how does the king overthrow himself? So parliament changed the definition making treason the act of the king trying to make war on the people of England. He was found guilty and would be executed. The day of his execution he put on his finest clothes and waited. He was beheaded on that January day.
